. I keep forgetting and I don’t want THOSE to flower. One of my favorite things is to see what has reseeded from last year. I have a poppies coming up in the middle of the beds, DILL EVERYWHERE and mustard flowering all over the place. I need to plant more carrots, beets, and beans. And then there’s the weeding…always with the weeding…
Oh HELL no! No hand watering. I am a pretty lame-o, lazy waterer to tell you the truth. When I first built the garden I decided against drip irrigation mainly because of a book I read by Carol Depp called “The Resilient Gardener”. Her opinion (expensive and pain in the ass) and the practical experience with drip irrigation that I had with the community garden I was apart of for a few years made me vote against it. I watered with a sprinkler basically. By the end of the summer I was all like “I am TOTALLY installing drip irrigation! This sucks!” I meant to do it this year in early spring, but I ran out of time. I don’t water everyday, I am totally inconsistent and if we have a spell of hot, dry weather, I’ll make a point to water. Like right now, it looks like it might rain tomorrow, so I’m not going to water. I have an irrigation plan all mapped out I just need to order the parts! Maybe this fall.
Oh my gosh, your garden is amazing and I love how it is laid out. Totally my style. But I look at it and immediately wonder how you keep it watered. You don’t hand water all that, do you?
